Laser Programmer (Bystronic) – Office Based
Location: Leicester
Pay: £15–£18 per hour (negotiable depending on experience)

We are recruiting an experienced Laser Programmer to join our client’s established manufacturing team based in Leicester on a Permanent basis. This is an office-based, hands-on role focused on programming and production support and is not suitable for trainees or entry-level candidates.

The successful candidate will play a key role in programming CNC laser cutting machines, optimising nests, and supporting production to ensure efficient, high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and support Bystronic CNC laser cutting machines

  • Accurately interpret customer drawings and specifications

  • Create, modify, and nest sheet metal parts using CAD/CAM software

  • Optimise nesting to minimise material waste and improve efficiency

  • Liaise closely with production teams to ensure drawings and programs are correct and suitable for manufacture

  • Monitor machine performance to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency

  • Inspect finished parts to confirm they meet required tolerances

  • Maintain documentation for software designs, processes, and user guides

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience programming Bystronic laser machines

  • Confident programming customer drawing requirements accurately and efficiently

  • Strong CAD/CAM experience using BySoft, Radan, Lantek, or SolidWorks

  • Ability to work from detailed technical and engineering drawings

  • Background in a manufacturing or metalworking environment

  • Sheet metal experience is preferred but not essential.

Shift Options

  • Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30
